Lithuania Ranked 4th Heading Into Eurobasket 2015

The very early power rankings for the top National teams heading into Eurobasket 2015 has the historically very competitive Lithuania ranked 4th behind Spain, Serbia and France.

Pau Gasol will be leading Spain once again. Serbia won Silver at the 2014 World Cup and looks to field an even stronger team than before. France will be led by Tony Parker.

Lithuania won a friendly against Australia easily without several of their star players. The Toronto Raptors Jonas Valanciunas has yet to arrive in camp for his National team.

“When Jonas Valanciunas enters the team, those figures should improve even further,” Coach Kazlauskas added.

European teams generally play a full slate of friendly exhibition games throughout the month of August in preparation for the tournament which gets underway on September 5th at venues located in Montpellier, Berlin, Zagreb, and Riga.

Lithuania plays in Riga against the Ukraine in Group D on day 1 of Eurobasket 2015. The other teams in Group D include of Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia and hosts Latvia. Lithuania should be heavily favored to win their Group.
