Lithuania Waiting On Raptors Jonas Valanciunas

With the arrival of the Houston Rockets Donatas Motiejunas, the only player Lithuania’s National Team is still waiting on to show up is Toronto Raptors center Jonas Valanciunas according to BasketNews. (translated)

“From the National Basketball Association (NBA) summer league, the  Houston Rockets’ Donatas Motiejunas joined the Lithuania men’s team.

Currently, Lithuania is still missing their other National Basketball Association (NBA) basketball player Jonas Valanciunas. The Toronto Raptors forward will return to his homeland in early August.”

Last summer Valanciunas took a little bit of heat for not rushing over the instant NBA Summer League finished and he isn’t exactly in a hurry this time either.  BasketNews shared a picture on Facebook of Valanciunas and Amir Johnson together suggesting their guy would be back shortly.

“In the meantime, John Valančiūnas has been active with the Amir Johnson. Next week, Valančiūnas should join Lithuanian national team (Translated by Bing)”

Lithuania has already played a couple of friendly exhibition games that they won handily, 93-74 over Latvia and 82-51 over Georgia. They play Georgia again on Wednesday and face Finland on August 4th as Lithuania continues their exhibition game preparations for the World Cup in Spain starting on August 30th.

Valanciunas will almost certainly join his National Team sometime soon.
