Toronto Raptors Are Building A New $30m Practice Facility

The Toronto Raptors will finally be getting a new $30 million state-of-the-art practice facility just a few short miles down the street from the Air Canada Centre at Exhibition Place off Lake Shore Boulevard according to The Toronto Sun’s City Hall Bureau Chief Don Peat.

While the new facility will not be within easy walking distance of Air Canada Centre or the condo buildings located close to the arena where many of the Raptors players choose to live during the season, it will not take very long to get to by car, cab or public transit and the greatly expanded training space and services should make the slight inconvenience very worthwhile.

These types of practice facilities are becoming the norm throughout professional sports and the Raptors urgently needed the upgrade if they wanted to maintain their new image as a team serious about competing for talent in today’s NBA.

The City’s Executive has voted unanimously in favor of approving the project, however, it still has to go before the full Council next week.
