The anticipated future number 1 overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft Andrew Wiggins has told ESPN The Magazine (ESPN.com news services) that he will be One-and-Done with the Kansas Jayhawks. As is often the case, the lure of playing in the NBA and the security of a big-time guaranteed contract is proving to be too tempting for another one of the top young basketball talents. In all fairness, if it were not for the restrictions of the NBA’s current collective bargaining agreement, Wiggins might have been drafted first overall this past June ahead of fellow Canadian Anthony Bennett.
“I would say just being able to enjoy my last year of school,” Wiggins said.
“Win another championship, a national championship” he said. “Follow in Anthony Bennett’s footsteps of going number 1.”
